Judy Brooks, Roy Walkenhorst (both producers of Healing Quest), and Olivia Newton John are the bright lights behind the new and visually
stunning Healing Quest, a series of ongoing PBS programs that explore alternative
and complementary approaches to medicine around the world.
Brooks founded the company that grew into Lightbridge Productions in 1992,
and was joined by her husband in 1997. As an executive producer, director,
host, and consultant, Brooks has extensively explored holistic health and
healing. Her credits include Broken Wings, a six-part video series that shared
ways to heal the epidemic of domestic violence; PBS pledge special Age Power
with Ken Dychtwald; Mind, Body, Spirit: The Real Health Show for Planet Central
Television; Mind*Body*Spirit Reports for San Francisco's BAY TV, the
radio show The Intuitive Connection, produced in connection with the Center
for Applied Intuition in 1989; and the PBS documentary Peace Kids, the China
Trip.
Walkenhorst's experience as the founder and CEO of News Travel Network
served him well in researching the stories and planning on-location shoots
for Healing Quest. Two of the programs he created and executive produced, Rendezvous on the Discovery Channel and the Travel Channel's Earth Journeys
with Christopher Reeve, were nominated for Cable Ace Awards. Among his other
credits are Consumer Travel Reports, which became the longest-running news
inserts in U.S. television history; Bon Voyage; Holiday USA; and The World's
Weirdest Places.
