Different Advice for Different Ages
The American Medical Association currently recommends that every adult in the U.S. takes a multi-vitamin every day to help keep them healthy.
The issue of vitamins for youngsters, however, has been much less clear-cut. Dr. Alan Greene, Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at the Stanford University School of Medicine, and author of several child-rearing books and a popular website for parents, says vitamin supplements become increasingly important with the discontinuation of breast milk, especially Vitamin D, DHA / Omega-3 and calcium.
